LIFE MATTERS MEDIA STAFF
Police in Texas are searching for a home health care aid caught on video assaulting an elderly woman suffering from dementia.
The family of the 94-year-old woman viewed surveillance footage caught on a Nest Cam after finding bruises on her body and fearing something was wrong.
The graphic video, shared by Crime Stoppers, shows caretaker Brenda Floyd, striking and hurling profanities at the women in the living room of her Houston area home on New Year’s Day.
Floyd is now a fugitive, wanted for assaulting a disabled person. Floyd reportedly attacked the patient after she was seen feeding a dog “people food.”
In the video, Floyd strikes the victim on the head, curses and calls her names. The victim, originally sitting in a living room chair, gets up to leave while the Floyd continues her disturbing assault.
“She comes up behind her, starts berating her and actually slaps her in the side and back of the head,” Asst. Chief Ray Schultz told local reporters.
“As the lady gets up and is trying to work her way to get back to her bedroom with the assistance of a walker the caregiver continues to follow behind her, yelling at her and continues to strike her.”
A reward of $5,000 is offered for information leading to Floyd.
Floyd is described as a white female with black hair and brown eyes. Floyd is approximately 5 feet 2 inches tall and weighs approximately 215 pounds. Police are asking anyone with information call Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
