Actor, director and entrepreneur Justin Baldoni will serve as End Well’s 2018 keynote speaker.

Baldoni portrays Rafael on The CW’s award-winning satirical romantic comedy Jane the Virgin. He is also the co-founder and CEO of Wayfarer Entertainment, a digital media studio focused on fostering “disruptive inspiration.” The company most recently launched Man Enough, an intimate dinner series hosted by Baldoni that explores what it means to be a man today.

Baldoni is no stranger to end of life-related matters. He created and hosted My Last Days, a documentary series on people facing terminal illnesses that premiered in 2016 on The CW.

My Last Days is an inspirational look at what happens when we detach from the material things of the world, and live fully in the moment,” Baldoni said in statement before the series premiered. “I’m proud to share these stories that remind people that each and every one of us has the power to choose happiness and to make a difference — regardless of the hand we’ve been dealt.”

Now in its second year, the popular End Well symposium is a one-of-a-kind gathering of design, tech, health care and activist communities with the goal of generating human-centered, interdisciplinary innovation for the end of life experience. This year’s event will be held Dec. 6 in San Francisco.

Dr. Shoshana Ungerleider, a hospice and palliative care physician, advocate and philanthropist, spearheads the effort.

“We want attendees to feel inspired and empowered to work toward creating end of life experiences that support all individuals’ needs, goals and values,” Ungerleider told Life Matters Media.
