Guiding Principles

To seek truth

At Life Matters Media, we seek to inform ourselves continuously on topics related to the end of life and represent a wide spectrum of opinions and viewpoints on the issues in an honest and fair manner. We also aim to lend a voice to the voiceless, and to tell the real stories of some of society’s most forgotten members- the chronically ill, and those that care for them tirelessly and selflessly.

To act independently

Issues surrounding the end of life are complex and difficult. In our journalism, we strive to include competing perspectives to reflect each subject’s many facets. We also remain free of any associations that would damage our credibility as a comprehensive end of life resource.

To minimize harm

We realize we are encountering our audience and story subjects at one of the most stressful and vulnerable times of their lives. We make compassion a priority at Life Matters Media, and we know that all sources, subjects and colleagues are deserving of respect and sensitivity.

To be inclusive

End of life issues are unique in that they impact everyone- regardless of demographic, economic status, or any other societal division by which we are often characterized. At Life Matters Media, we strive to tell stories to which many can relate and from which many can learn. All thoughtful opinions are welcome on our site, a place our audience is welcome to share their hopes, fears, questions and dreams.
