Where do Advance Directives Fit In?
Fewer than one third of American adults have completed an advance directive; this session will empower attendees to spell out and safeguard care preferences.
When completed properly, directives are legally actionable and do not require the assistance or fee of an attorney or notary. Life Matters Media Co-Founders Randi Belisomo and Mary Mulcahy, MD, will explain the many types of advance directives, their various levels of appropriateness for differing populations and their corresponding levels of legality.
Attendees will come to understand what the many types of advance directives can do, how to consider the best proxy decision-maker for their care decisions, and how to complete, legalize and store their own advance directive.
